What are Terminals and Why are They Needed?

Terminals form a crucial component of the NoFloods flood protection system, serving a dual purpose that enhances its functionality:

  • Starting or Ending the Flood Barrier: Terminals serve as the initial or concluding points of the Flood Barrier, ensuring a seamless and secure connection to the protected area.
  • Air and Water Management: These elements enable controlled inflow and outflow of air and water within the system, contributing to its stability and efficient operation.

Manufactured from aluminum, these terminals boast exceptional resistance to both corrosion and UV rays, ensuring durability even in challenging environmental conditions. When used, the single Terminals are paired and positioned at the ends of the Flood Barrier, effectively enclosing the protected area. The terminal design is optimized for the introduction of water into the dam, and it incorporates aluminum closures of the STORZ type or equivalent, allowing for secure and reliable connections. Furthermore, a rubber protective ring is integrated into the terminal structure, effectively preventing slips and leaks.

The variety of Terminals encompasses three distinct configurations:

  • Single Terminal (One unit)
  • Double Terminal (Two single units)
  • Triple Terminal (Three single units)

By incorporating these resilient and thoughtfully designed Terminals, our flood protection system gains the capacity to initiate, conclude, and regulate the flow of air and water with precision. This ensures the creation of a comprehensive, adaptable, and effective defense against flooding events, bolstering the resilience of vulnerable areas.
