UIB Cadets Receive Training In Climate Resilience

Young Members of the Emergency Preparedness (UIB) were being trained in climate resilience so they could help society tackle the growing challenges posed by extreme weather events such as heavy rainfall, storms, storm surges and flooding.

The cadets successfully completed their annual training, focusing on climate change and resilience.

Environment Solutions was delighted to support their training by providing essential equipment and barriers.

Here are a couple of pictures showing their training:

What You Need To Know

At “UngKlima,” participants are trained in handling local and national climate challenges and changes.

They are trained, among other things, in properly using sandbags, waterfilled barriers and pumps during floods, as well as how to manage incidents during storms and fallen trees.

The training has proven to be highly successful.

Here’s what some of the participants had to say after their training with WaterTubes (NoFloods PRO) and WaterGates (NoFloods FlexWall):

“Working with watertubes and watergates was a truly positive experience. The instructions were clear and easily applicable to practical exercises, which was very rewarding. Working with new materials that we are not accustomed to was genuinely exciting.”

“It was incredibly fun to explore new materials that are not typically part of our station’s equipment. I had no idea that these options existed. It was also physically demanding, emphasizing the importance of teamwork.”

“It was an immensely educational experience, and I really enjoyed the training.”

It is evident that the instructors and Young Members of the Emergency Preparedness (UIB) have made a fantastic effort.

At Environment Solutions, we look forward to continuing our support by providing equipment and contributing to similar initiatives next year, as well as in other countries.

Here is more information about Young Members of the Emergency Preparedness (UIB):

  • It is a Danish organization that coordinates and promotes the activities of children and young people interested in firefighting and rescue.
  • It organizes training, professional and social events, as well as networking meetings for both instructors and cadets throughout the year.
