The Temporary Cofferdam - Because you want to work smarter...
Taking advantage of new technology and a new approach. You benefit from a temporary dam to secure a dry work area within an existing water body e.g. a lake, river or sea.
This in turn helps you save time and resources e.g. manpower, finances, etc.
Here are a couple of cases where the NoFloods Barrier has been used to create temporary cofferdams.
Damming in Water
A pipe system needed to be repaired and replaced in a wetland region located in Taarbæk, Denmark.
The barriers were easily spread in water by the construction company creating a temporary cofferdam that helped create a dry work area.
High Voltage Cable Work in Wetland
During the construction of a Wind Farm, Zenviron Pty made the decision to deploy the NoFloods Barriers.
The temporary cofferdam created a dry work area within an existing lake/wetland area allowing for trenching and installation of a High Voltage (HV) buried cable.
Expansion of a Beach and Recreational Area
An existing beach area of 300 m2 was expanded to a total area of 3.000 m2.
Using the NoFloods barrier to create a temporary cofferdam made it possible for the construction crew to drain the surface and groundwater in less than 5 hours!
This made it possible to commence subsurface excavation work the next day.
The video illustrates the process from start to finish (it took 3 weeks).
Temporary Cofferdam (In-Water works)
Easing The Works Of Excavation, Installation, Building Or Cleaning Out
A cofferdam is a temporary structure or enclosure designed to allow dewatering, diversion or damming of an enclosed area.
The primary purpose of a cofferdam is to control the water in order to create a dry environment for a project/waterworks.
The NoFloods Temporary Cofferdam is based on the same principle and uses on-site water to fill the tubes.
As the tubes continue to fill and the water pressure builds, the dam is installed in a controlled manner to create a cofferdam.
Using the NoFloods temporary cofferdam is an effective and cost-efficient solution to ease works of excavation, installation, building (e.g. bridge and dam construction), or simply cleaning out.
The NoFloods temporary cofferdam can be used for all major types of water control situations e.g.:
Dewatering:
Dewatering, unwatering and water control are common terms used to describe the removal or drainage of ground or surface water, typically on a construction site.
Dewatering is often required before subsurface excavation for things such as foundations, shoring, cellar space, and repairs of existing water structures.
Diversion:
This involves the temporary re-routing of water. It may be required to initiate a project and/or allow a project to proceed.
Damming:
Damming is the process of creating a barrier that holds water back. The barrier may be used to maintain water table levels, collect water for storage or to prevent water from crossing established/safety thresholds.
Benefits of Using The NoFloods Barrier To Create A Temporary Cofferdam
It helps you to save on resources – Compared with other solutions in the market, the NoFloods Cofferdam requires a few trained personnel to deploy and remove.
It’s also more economical than most of the other solutions out there.
It saves time – The fact that it’s quick and easy to deploy and remove means that projects can be started and completed faster than ever before.
It’s environmentally friendly – The NoFloods barrier is made of eco-friendly materials. This makes it safe for the environment in which is it deployed since there are no toxins or pollutants released.
There is zero negative impact on the environment.
