Flood Barriers on Display in Provence, Southern France
We recently returned to France, this time to the beautiful region of Provence for a series of successful flood protection demonstrations.
Showcasing Flood Barriers with SABA
The Syndicat d’Aménagement du Bassin de l’Arc (SABA), a public entity advising 25 municipalities on flood management and water safety, invited us to showcase the capabilities of our floods barriers.
Our demonstration focused on the l’Arc River which flows into the Étang de Berre near Marseille Airport.
With its extensive experience in flood risk management, SABA plays a critical role in helping local municipalities prepare for extreme weather events.
Under the intense 35°C Mediterranean sun, our demo instructor, Stevan, single-handedly deployed our equipment, proving just how fast and efficient our solutions are.
After a successful demonstration, he took a well-earned break, relaxing on our Alu Barrier in the cool shade of the plane trees, as you can see from the image below.
A Second Demonstration in Aix-en-Provence
The next day, we headed to Aix-en-Provence, a historic city with deep Roman roots and one of the region’s major urban centers.
Here, the city’s risk management department requested a demonstration at a sports complex where key stakeholders attended, including:
Representatives from the SDIS (firefighters)
Officials from the metropolis and the State involved in flood risk management
Our Flex Wall flood barrier was the highlight, showcasing its rapid deployment and reliability against torrential downpours, a common challenge in the Mediterranean climate.
The demonstration in Aix was held on June 20th 2018.
