Flood Damage To Be “A Thing Of The Past” In Rubiera Thanks To NoFloods Barriers
The municipality of Rubiera as well as the entire province of Reggio Emilia (Italy), can finally say goodbye to the destruction and suffering caused by floods.
This is after the Reggio civil protection authority purchased one kilometre of NoFloods Barriers – our innovative flood defence system that uses the threat (flood water) to neutralise the threat (flooding).
This means that they will no longer have to use sandbags which are more expensive and less effective compared to the NoFloods Barriers.
The NoFloods Barriers Tested Prior To Purchase
Before making the purchase, the barriers were thoroughly tested to ensure they met all the standards and requirements.
They passed all the tests ??
Feedback On The NoFloods Barriers
Here’s what Emanuele Cavallaro, the mayor of Rubiera had to say:
“After carrying out tests in Tresinaro, we were looking for an innovative defence system.
Civil Protection directed us towards this solution which is already used in many European countries, especially France and Denmark, but in Italy, it is still not very widespread.
We will keep it in Rubiera but make it available to the entire province of Reggio Emilia”
Mayor Cavallaro also pointed out that the cost of the barriers compared to their benefit was more than sustainable.
Here’s a clip of the testing exercise – you may need to work on your Italian ?.
