This Reusable Flood Barrier Is A Game Changer For Repair Works

Our reusable flood barrier helped one of the world’s biggest metal and mining companies repair a dam in a wetland.

They partnered with UDIM, our distributor, who supplied them with the reusable flood barrier to dam up the water in the wetland, thus making repair work possible.

One of our in-house specialists was present to provide assistance.

The barrier deployment was successful thanks to the participants’ fantastic teamwork.

The Challenge: Reducing Water Level at The Construction Site Without Tampering with The Wetland

The subcontractor needed to complete major repairs on a permanent dam in the wetland area.

However, lowering the lake’s water level would negatively impact the protected wetland and the whole ecosystem around it.

The wetland had to be first secured before lowering the lake’s water level.

The Solution: NoFloods Reusable Flood Barrier

After several consultations, we decided to use our reusable flood barrier to dam the water in the wetland.

Smaller streams were dammed up using our 30-meter self-erecting NoFloods FlexWall (3×10 m) in combination with another inflatable water dam (deployed for short-term use and later removed).

For the major deployment, a 200-meter (656-foot) inflatable reusable flood barrier (NoFloods PRO TwinTube 125) was deployed across the lake to dam up the water flow.

The Result of Using The NoFloods Reusable Flood Barrier

The subcontractor could begin repairs on the permanent dam while maintaining the wetland’s water level.

Consequently, the wetland remained uninterrupted as repair work went on.
